Stand by Paul in His Cancer Fight and ICU

A few years ago, Paul was going for weight loss surgery. He was a 350 pound man with high blood pressure. I waited in the waiting room only to have the doctor come out half hour later to tell me he couldn't do the surgery. He explained to me that there was a spot at the end of Paul's esophagus. We started going to doctor after doctor for tests and mini surgeries because Paul could not hold down food and was losing weight rapidly. While in the emergency room during a really bad (what we called) an episode the doctor called into the room to speak with me and told me those words you never want to hear. Paul had cancer. Not only did he have cancer, but a rare blood cancer that was terminal. Our lives came to a halt. We had to tell the kids. We had to accept what was happening.

We started trying to enjoy the time we still had. He's been through so many surgeries to help with things. Top it all off, the cancer has ruined his kidneys and he started dialysis. Life was changing fast. We got a little hope when he was offered stem cell transplant to give him more time. He went through hell but he recovered and we didn't have money so we did the little things we could to enjoy our family.

About 2 weeks ago, he was complaining of a backache. His doctor told him to go to the er. We had a little argument because he waited until I got home instead of going right over because he wanted my company. They were going to release him that night with some meds but said they would keep him until the next day to monitor him. They found out he had shingles. This usually isn't such a horrible thing but because he is compromised already, it became an issue. Things got worse and worse pretty quickly. The virus spread to his brain causing him to hallucinate and have a really bad few nights. Then the doctor said it looks like he's getting better! And he did for about a day. He then just seemed to go downhill more and more. Then I got a call that his heart stopped. They got it going again after 25 minutes. They found a mark on one of the heartvalves and it is a bacterial infection. He is now in the ICU fighting to stay with us but he is getting worse and worse

Please. If you can help at all I would appreciate it. The state won't help us and i don't have money. I'm doing all I can.
