Daughter of Paul and wanting to take him on a trip of his request. Dad fought for years to get a heart transplant and finally with about 6 months to live received one. A year later he had a tumor on his tongue that was cancerous and under went aggressive chemo and radiation therapy. Then 6 months later found cancer in neck lymph nodes, had a neck discection surgery. Then 6 months later cancer returned in neck , first chemotherapy treatment failed, leaving him weak and under weight. Another chemotherapy treatment started but two weeks into it he got pneumonia and was in hospital where he ended up with a fungal infection and on antifungal meds for next 3 months. With the antifungal meds he can't continue chemotherapy so the prognosis is poor. He is still fighting but the will to live is not all that is needed to stop cancer from growing and spreading. He has requested to sit on the beach in the warm sun and listen to the ocean, so my goal is to make that happen. We have a family friend who has given a RV for traveling in so he can be comfortable but we are looking to raise some funds to be used so that the expense of trip does not burden dad and Marie financially as he continues his fight. Your contribution will go towards RV gas, insurance for use of RV, couple hotel nights for easier bathing, food for Marie and any activities Dad wants along the way. The travel dates are February 16th - 22nd, 2026. Heading to Lake Sinclair first to visit family then to Florida gulf coast to the sun. This most likely will be this retired Navy veterans last trip to the ocean and your help would be greatly appreciated.
