Paul has been a dear friend of mine for over 15 years, and throughout that time, he has dedicated his life to child welfare as a social worker, always putting the needs of others before his own. Paul and his partner have been together for over 25 years, supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. Recently, Paul’s health has taken a serious turn for the worse. He has been in and out of the hospital numerous times over the past year, and his prognosis is not good. The situation has become even more challenging as Paul lost his job due to his health. His partner lost his job as well during this trying time and is now Paul’s full time caregiver.

When Paul lost his job, he also lost his health insurance. He now has Medicaid, but that presents its own challenges for coverage of the treatment he needs. The medical bills are mounting, and with no income coming in, daily living expenses are becoming overwhelming. On top of these challenges, Paul does not have a life insurance policy and, due to his deteriorating health, is no longer able to create one. Paul and his partner have always been the first to help others in need, especially children, but now they find themselves in a position where they need help from their community.
