08 August 2025, my beloved nephew, Paulo Joaquin Gapoy, 18M, 1st year Nursing student, had an accident in our hometown in the Philippines. He had a hemicraniectomy on the same day to relieve the pressure on his brain and remains sedated to this day. He is still comatose to this day, while medical bills continue to mount.

Paulo Joaquin, PJ to us, his peers, is a quiet, reserved and intelligent young man whose dream is to become a nurse - and once graduated, be able to extend help to those in need. However, after this terrible accident, he is the one who currently needs urgent care and prayers, above all else. The former, PJ's immediate family can provide, the latter by all of us - prayers for the alleviation from his coma and his immediate recovery.

However, another equally important and pressing concern is the mounting bills from the procedure, round-the-clock medical care as well as the periodic medication that needs to be administered. To date, the running bill amounts to more that one million five hundred Philippine Peso (PHP1,5000,000.00++ or US$27,000.00++).
