Support Paulina Angel's Gender Surgery Aftercare Expenses

Hi Everyone,

My name is Paulina Angel, I'm an activist and leader based out here in the Coachella Valley.

I have to first off say that I really didn't want to do a gofundme for this, and really wanted to work towards what I need the money for, but here is my story:

For the past few years, I've been working on so many projects for my community, from working with the FEMA funded initiative CalHope/UnityHope on providing Peer Crisis Counseling for those that have been affected by the COVID Pandemic, Representing my county of Riverside to the Out4MentalHealth initiative by the California LGBTQ Health and Human Services, Co-founding the Every One Initiative with concert promoter Goldenvoice for the Coachella concert which provides a safe space and harm reduction services from counseling and providing Narcan, Continuing to bring resources to the East Coachella Valley by Co-Founding the East Coachella Pride Resource Fair, as most recently, Co-Sponsoring and being one of the leading organizations working on Senate Bill 923 which provides access to Gender Affirming Care to TGI people.

With the work I've done, I was able to save up money needed for my aftercare for when I have my Gender Affirming Surgery at end of this year, but then an emergency financial hardship happened in 2023, and with it, my entire savings went with it. Since last year, I've been back to square one, having worked many years to make my surgery possible, now its at a limbo stage, but it doesn't have to.

Today is the start of my birthday week with September 4, being my birthday, my goal is to raise $3,500, which will go towards the house bills that I need to pay while I'm out of work (Power, Gas, Cable, Phone, etc) , gas for traveling to the hospital where I'm going to be having my surgery at, as well as subsequent follow-up appointments, food and other things needed.

By helping me, I'll be able to have my surgery, knowing that everything for my home is taken care of as well as everything needed for my recovery. All that supports my fundraiser will be clued in on the process including doctors updates, a video Pre-Surgery, a video Journal Post-Surgery and where I am mentally after everything. I will also send out physical thank you cards.
