My name is Paulettra. I’m a proud veteran, a first-time homeowner, and right now, I’m facing one of the hardest challenges of my life.
In September 2024, my husband and I achieved a dream—we closed on our first home. Just weeks later, on Veterans Day, I was told I’d lose my job within 2–3 months. I immediately started applying and networking, confident I’d bounce back quickly. But despite over 20 years of experience and a master’s degree in IT, I’ve been unemployed for nearly a year. I never imagined this would happen.
I’ve always been independent—since joining the Army at 17, I’ve worked hard to provide for my family and never missed a bill. But now, life has thrown me a curveball, and I’m scared. Every dollar you give will go directly toward essentials: mortgage payments, utilities, and groceries while I continue my job search. If you can’t donate, sharing this page means the world to me.
This isn’t easy for me to ask. I’ve always been the strong one, the giver, the one who holds it together. But today, I need help to keep our home and keep hope alive. Your support—whether through a donation or a share—will make a real difference.
Thank you for reading this and for any kindness you can offer. It’s not just financial help—it’s a lifeline.
