Support Paula's Road to Recovery

On June 26th, after experiencing the death of a housemate, Paula walked to Blackstone restaurant. Walking with the “walk” sign, she was struck by an SUV in the crosswalk.

Currently, Paula is in ICU at St Vincent Hospital, on a ventilator, with a punctured collapsed lung, broken collar bone, 4 broken ribs, and a broken finger. The Drs keep trying to ween her off the vent, only to find her body isn’t strong enough for that.

The hope is she will be given a Tracheotomy and be able to recover here, however, if that’s not possible, she will need to move to a hospital in Milwaukee or Madison to ween off completely.

In the meantime, the family is incurring expenses, having their meals at hospital, fuel to and from, and Paula has expenses as well. The family wants to pay ahead on her rent so her home is secured while she recouperates.
