My name is Paula and I am the founder of Jersey Shore Salsa- a salsa dance community in Ocean & Monmouth county that aims to provide dance classes and socials for people at the Jersey Shore. There's never been too many places to dance or learn salsa down the shore so I have aimed to solve that problem as well as create a fun and welcoming community for those looking to make friends, build confidence or simply learn to dance.

I do everything myself- I create my own flyers, I teach the classes, host socials, make playlists, bring my own speaker, buy all the necessary equipment and promotional materials as well as food and drinks for my special events. I promote across multiple social media platforms, pay for my own ads, and I even rent spaces to teach sometimes. I also design my own merch (t-shirts, hats, etc.) which can cost a lot.

A lot of work and money goes into preparing for these events and to keep them going. I have to update my equipment as well. Sometimes I have to pay a floor fee to a venue just so they promise to keep us and that cuts into my profits.

This is my only job as I have fully dedicated my life to this purpose which brings so many people joy. If you can spare anything to donate and help keep this community thriving and reaching more people at the shore- I would be so grateful.
