Support Paula's Emergency Medivac to the U.S.

Some of you all will know me and most probably won't, but I'm Deric Hamilton, a friend of Miss Paula Gregg and a close friend to her daughter Amber Lively and her husband Danny. There's never an easy way to ask for help, especially when it's a financial ask, but we're going to.

This past Sunday, June 15th, started as a very ordinary day in an extraordinary place (Negril,Jamaica). Paula was enjoying her first day of a much-needed and well-deserved vacation in Negril with her friends and family (myself included) when a nightmare began and disaster struck.
Paula slipped on a very wet surface after a recent rain at the hotel she was staying in and has broke her hip in several different places. She needs every prayer angel she can get right now. Her condition is stable, and her vitals are up and down. She was rushed to the closest hospital in Negril by ambulance.
Amber, her daughter, has been juggling all of the paperwork, expenses, and challenges of a third-world private health care hospital system and getting her home safe for surgery.

At this point, we need to get Paula back to the United States as soon as possible. The challenges are numerous but it's mostly just financial. Amber and Danny have stacked several credit cards to pay out of pocket over $20,000 for ambulance and hospital care for the past day. Every day here in Negril for Paula is costing over $10,000 just for keeping her mostly comfortable at the hospital. This is not for ANYTHING surgical. The only option for surgery seems to be a medivac transport from the island here to the U.S. She cannot sit up and has to be transported lying flat. The most affordable option is around $50k. Yes, $50,000. And there is no invoicing and paying later. You come up with the cash, or you don't leave. The only other option is to have the surgery here, but it will be similar costs if not more, and it's not the same healthcare we rely on in the States. Nor will the insurance company cover a dime of it. Amber and Danny have already shelled out over $20k on multiple credit cards, and every hour she stays here at the hospital seems to continue to stack up exorbitant charges.

Paula needs to get her hip re-set properly and have surgery FAST! If you know Paula, then you know she is the type of person that would give you her last dollar or the clothes off her back. Heck the first time I met her she bought my son a pair of toddler ray-ban sunglasses. She needs your help... really badly! We need to raise funds FAST and get her back to the United States ASAP.
The most generous people I know, need your help. Danny and Amber have mostly shouldered this financial burden up until now, but the well is running dry very quickly. They could really use your help. It seems that the hospital here has been opportunistic, to say the least, and where had this happened in the U.S., payment would be an afterthought. Here, it is the only driving force behind getting her comfort and assistance or her being left with no help.

Paula will miss several weeks of work. She works part-time as a nurse, from which she receives a modest income. She doesn't have a big savings for emergencies like this. Every hour she stays here in Jamaica is costing hundreds/thousands of dollars. Please... if you could lift her up in prayer or share the link with others who may know her or may have the means to help in any way, it would mean the world to Paula.

We need to all pull together! What is now seemingly an impossible challenge can be possible with spreading out that burden over all of us. She can't/won't be able to do it without you. Please. Please. Please, help. Miss Paula needs ya. Amber and Danny need you.

Now is the time we show up.
