Support Paul Ward's Battle with Esophageal Cancer

We recently found out that my husband has been diagnosed with an aggressive type esophageal cancer; he is only 66 1/2 years old. This news came as a shock to us, as we were originally told that he had a hiatal hernia. Even though we know that it is an aggressive cancer, we still do not have a lot of information, we are still having testing done.

What we do know is that treatments will begin immediately, this week, and we will having daily appointments for chemo therapy, and to check blood counts. This is all happening so fast and it has been very overwhelming for our family, especially Paul.

There will be a lot of travel, and we are not close to any of the three hospitals that we will be going to for his appointments. Paul is on social security disability, and our amazing children have stepped up tremendously, helping to pay for what they can. This is not a burden that we want to put onto them, or to have them worry about.

unfortunately, we do not know the full extent of the cost for everything, and Paul’s disability income is simply not enough to cover our monthly bills, let alone the extra expenses that we will be accruing, and I will not be able to work, as I will he his caregiver.

This process is moving very quickly, and there is still so much more information that we are learning each day, and so many tasks that need to be taken care of. Even though this has been very overwhelming, we are keeping our spirits high and accepting all the good vibes and prayers coming our way.
