Hello everyone!
My name is Paul Tylliros, and I am thrilled to share some exciting news – I have qualified to represent Canada at the 4th World Taijiquan Championships in Singapore, taking place from August 21-28, 2024. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete on the global stage and bring pride to our country. However, I need your support to make this dream a reality! I hope to raise enough funds to cover some expenses, including travel, accommodation, training, competition fees, and physical therapy.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey with me!

About Me:
On May 18th, 2024, I had the exciting opportunity to compete at the 2024 Ontario Martial Arts Games & Selection Event, where I achieved Gold in both the traditional Yang and Chen Taiji categories. This remarkable accomplishment secured my place on the Team Canada World Taijiquan National Team.

I am a dedicated Taiji (Tai Chi) athlete from Ji Hong Tai Chi Qi Gong in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. My journey in Taiji began over a decade ago and has included training under various teachers across Canada and abroad. Approximately two years ago, I joined Ji Hong Tai Chi under the expert guidance of Sifu May Rahnema and Sifu Bao Sen Liang, who have both played a crucial role in shaping my skills and passion for Taiji. My deep commitment to Taiji drives me to continually strive for excellence and growth in every aspect of the art.
At 54 years old (amazing right!), I couldn't imagine myself in this position before, but now since this is an extraordinary opportunity for me to compete internationally, I am fully committed to delivering my best performance.

My Goal:
As an athlete training to compete at the world level, I need lots of support from my community. I am hoping to raise enough funds to cover some of the expenses that include travel, accommodation, training, registration fees, physical therapy, etc.

To participate in the 4th World Taijiquan Championships, I need to raise $4,200 CAD (Revised June 26/24)(including 2.9% + $0.30 for GoFundMe service fees) to cover some essential expenses.

In addition to funding my journey, I am committed to social action by giving back to the community. I will match 15% of the funds raised and donate this amount to an organization in the Halton Region that supports people in need, specifically Halton Women's Place. Matching 15% of your contributions will also positively impact our community.
Stay tuned here for updates on my contributions back to our community!

Breakdown of Expenses: (Revised June 26/24)
New Team Athlete registration fee: $150 CAD (includes uniform)
Flights: $1600 CAD (Revised June 26/24: Flight cost includes Toronto to Singapore to Beijing/ Return fare to Toronto excluded)
Accommodation: $900 CAD (6 nights at $150/night – dual occupancy)
Meals and transportation: Included from August 22-28, 2024
