Many of you know and have worked with Dr. Paul Tucker, conductor, pianist and professor. Paul has been experiencing numerous medical challenges over the past six months resulting in several hospitalizations and surgeries to repair multiple “brain bleeds” due to falls. Because of his continued physical inactivity in the hospital, he will require extensive Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy after his upcoming discharge from the University of Florida (UF Health) hospital in Jacksonville. His insurance company, Humana, will not pay for urgently needed intensive In-patient Rehabilitation. We have selected Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital, Jacksonville, which offers the required service at a competitive price, to provide Paul’s rehabilitation. Despite the generosity of a few individuals with knowledge of Paul’s condition, we now face an estimated $45 ,000 to cover four weeks of intensive In-patient rehabilitation at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital.
