Support Paul Sibley's Fight Against Leukemia

My name is Valarie Eichler and I am creating this funding page for my lifelong friend, Paul Sibley. We grew up together in Oil City, La and were really more like brother and sister than friends. Paul is a minister, is married to Audrey, and they have one daughter, Alafaire. He recently has experienced extreme tiredness, weight loss, and shortness of breath. This prompted a visit to a local ER, which revealed his hemoglobin to be very low and an enlarged spleen. After receiving 3 units of blood, he was sent to Charleston, SC, to the Medical University of South Carolina. He underwent several days of testing, scans, and eventually a bone marrow biopsy. Yesterday, November 16th, he received a diagnosis of AML or Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The oncology team has hit the ground running with this new information, placed a PICC line, and Paul has already received his first round of chemotherapy today, Sunday, Nov 17th. This will be a 2 weeks on and 2-4 weeks off regimen for now, obviously watching his response and following the protocols for treating AML. This is the induction phase, which usually lasts around 6 weeks. After this time, the treatment plan turns to a stem cell or bone marrow transplant.

As you can see, this life-changing event has stopped this family in their tracks. Paul will not be able to work during this time, and Audrey needs to be there with him during this acute phase. If you know anything about being in the hospital, then you know it is not cheap. Daily parking, meals, snacks, and so on add up very quickly. The goal of this fund is to help them have extra money to survive during the time which neither are able to work. I am asking that you pray and ask God to lead you in your giving to this precious family who has dedicated their adult life to the work of God.

All money donated will go directly to the account for Paul and they will be able to use as they need it. If you are unable to donate financially, then I know they will appreciate you calling their name in your daily prayers.
