Hello. My brother Paul McGee, for those of you that know him, is always smiling and making people laugh. He has been struggling with his health for a long time, but in the last year and a half, he was diagnosed with both Myasthenia Gravis and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy. MG is a condition that happens when communication between nerves and muscles breaks down. This causes muscles to feel weak and get tired quickly. This condition may affect any of the muscles you control, called voluntary muscles. Certain muscle groups are more commonly affected than others. These include muscles in the face, throat, arms, and legs. CIDP is a rare autoimmune disorder where the immune system damages the myelin sheath insulating the nerves. It causes progressive weakness and sensory loss in the arms and legs. Paul has fallen multiple times and has broken his femur (requiring surgery), sprained both his wrists, and hit his face causing eye trauma and vision issues. He has been in and out of the hospital with high fevers, and through all this, he keeps a positive attitude.
I am asking for donations to help Paul and Susan pay for all the medical bills that are not covered by insurance and Medicare. We are trying to keep him out of a wheelchair as long as possible. His first treatment option is no longer helping control his symptoms. Now, we are hoping to try one other treatment. There is no cure.
I love my brother. He needs help. Please consider donating. Any amount would be helpful. Also, please share this GoFundMe page if you know our family and want to assist us in raising money. Thank you. Dot
