I’m Jennifer, a close friend of Paul & Cheryl Lauch. This is what is going on and why we are setting up this beautiful and needed request:

On February 13 & 14th Paul was in California. On the 15th he was headed back home but felt really ill as he was boarding the plane. He was so sick he was doubled over in pain and could not buckle his seat belt. The airlines took him off the plane and rushed him in an ambulance to emergency. Once there the doctors tried for 5 days to get him better so he could get back to Washington. He just kept deteriorating. Now he was so sick and at that point where he was fighting for his life. He was put on a ventilator and then in ICU where he stayed for 70 days. He was fighting pneumonia which turned into sepsis. The sepsis was tearing his insides apart. He then had 12 surgeries to help correct some of the issues but not all. He suffered kidney failure, 2 strokes and blood clots in the interim. He has loss so much muscle mass he can not walk and is finally able to begin physical therapy. He still is in the San Diego hospital since neither the Washington or San Diego/California hospitals will pay for his medical flight back since he is still too sick to fly commercial. Paul has been in the San Diego hospital 100+ days and until we raise money for the medical flight home and some medical bills, he will have to stay in San Diego until he is able to fly commercially which could be another 3 to 4 months or more.
