Aloha, my name is Jami Kihe, and I am reaching out on behalf of my mom, LeeAnn Kamoku, and our family. Recently, my dad, Paul Kamoku, Sr., was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer.
Over the last two and a half months, my dad has been in and out of several different hospitals/medical facilities—Kona Community Hospital, North Hawaii Community Hospital, Maui Memorial, Hilo Benioff Hospital, and Life Care Center in Kona after being discharged from Hilo. We’ve been trying to get my dad transferred to Oahu, but we were repeatedly told there was no space. Finally, about a week and a half ago, he was accepted to Queens Hospital on Oahu, where, just a week ago, yesterday, he had a biopsy and we received the devastating news of pancreatic cancer.
Throughout this journey, my mom has remained by my dad’s side every step of the way. She has not been able to return to work and, at this time, we do not know if or when she will—my dad will require extended treatment and care on Oahu.
The ongoing medical costs, travel, and care have become a bit overwhelming. We are humbly asking for any support—whether that's a donation, sharing our story, or sending positive thoughts and prayers our way. Your kindness will allow us to focus on caring for my dad and being together as a family during this challenging time.
Mahalo for reading our story. Mahalo for your generosity. Mahalo for standing with us. Mahalo Ke Akua
With love, Kamoku Ohana
