Support Paul Emack's Fight Against Guillain-Barre Sydrome

Donation protected
Paul Emack and his family need your help! Paul was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), a rare autoimmune condition that attacked his nervous system. This has rendered Paul partially paralyzed. He is unable to walk or stand independently and has limited use of his hands. He has worked hard to continue breathing on his own and stay off life support. When he is discharged from the hospital, he will need intensive inpatient rehabilitation therapies, followed by long-term outpatient therapy services.

Paul’s diagnosis was completely unexpected, taking him and his family by surprise. He has been suddenly unable to work to help support his family. As they are new residents of Oregon, Paul is not eligible for any significant state-paid leave benefits. Paul works as a carpenter in a physically demanding job and will not likely be able to resume work soon.

Paul has a ten-year-old son with Down syndrome, a 20-month-old daughter, and a new baby due in June 2025. Paul is a humble, hardworking man, and it is killing him to be unable to provide for his family. Medical costs are mounting and the sudden loss of Paul’s income is a severe hardship for his family.

All funds received will be used to pay Paul’s medical bills, rehabilitation therapies, and support his children. Paul would be extremely grateful for any help during this trying time.
