Support Paul battling grade 4 brain cancer

Hi Everyone, My name is Jessica, I'm writing this today with a heavy heart for my partner Paul Skundric. Late last year we had the shock of our lives when Paul was diagnosed with a grade 4 astrocytoma, one of the most common and aggressive brain cancers.
Paul suffers with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis that effects his whole body on a daily basis, he never let his condition effect him he always had a positive outlook and didn't allow it to take over his life.  Back in November 2024, Paul started having headaches, sickness and weakness to to his left side of his body, symptoms of what we thought were linked to his arthritis and the medication he was taking. A few days passed and he started to struggle with his usual daily activities, getting dressed and driving, losing grip of his left hand. This urged us to proceed to A&E, thinking he may have had a stroke. With a potential diagnosis of a stroke weighing above our heads, Paul was rushed through for an MRI scan. Our worst nightmare was confirmed, the doctors had found a mass on his brain resulting in a potential tumour or an infection, therefore he had to undergo further testing to determine.
In December of 2024 Paul was seen by a neurosurgeon consultant who verified the findings that the mass on his brain was an aggressive cancerous tumour and that the next step was to operate as soon as possible. On December 27th Paul underwent surgery to remove as much of the tumour has possible. It was confirmed that the surgeon managed to remove all the of the tumour, however the biopsy results revealed the devastating news of a fast growing, incurable grade 4 astrocytoma, with a prognosis of 12-18 months to live. With many thanks to Salford Royal, Paul had surgery and is currently in his first week of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Although these treatments seem promising they are not curable, they cannot kill every tumour cell left behind. Astrocytomas are ruthless, with only 25% of people surviving more than a year and only 5% survive more than 5 years. We still haven't come to terms with Paul falling into this statistic. At 48 years old he still has alot of years ahead of him to enjoy life, to explore new places, to do the things we had planned as a couple and to create precious memories with his loved ones and close friends. We are hoping that after the 6 weeks of intense therapy at christies we hear the tumour cells haven't grown, that the treatment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy have managed to hold back the growth of this life threatening cancer. I write to you today to raise awareness and welcome  donations no matter how small, to allow Paul this time to enjoy some of those things he loves in life. He's such a kind and caring person who brings so much joy and laughter to so many of us. It breaks our hearts watching him go through this. So please if you can donate, share this page and help Paul through the fight of his life.
We appreciate your support & thankyou ♥️
The fight isn't over, let's beat cancer!
