Stand with Island Brewing Company
Should one couple get to decide what’s right for an entire community? Island Brewing Company (IBC) brings people together through live music just a few hours a week—but now, it's under legal attack by a pair of wealthy part-time residents who simply don’t like it.

What’s Happening
This couple has launched a relentless campaign to shut down live music at IBC, despite overwhelming community support and a city council vote affirming the venue's right to host it. Now, they’ve escalated to a lawsuit—threatening to close down this popular local business.
They’ve called the Sheriff repeatedly (with no violations found) and are using their money and influence—from their primary home in LA—to try to silence a vibrant part of Carpinteria’s culture.

Why It Matters
IBC isn’t just a brewery, it’s a community hub run by locals, Paul and Cheryl Wright. They’re now facing steep legal costs just to keep their doors open. My wife and I have been coming here for 20+ years and we can’t stand by and risk the ruin of this invaluable community hub.

How You Can Help
Support this GoFundMe to help cover IBC’s legal defense. Let’s show that one couple’s money and status shouldn’t override an entire town’s voice. Please share this fundraiser with your friends.
Donate whatever you can $10, $20 or more. Every little bit counts.

Defend our music. Defend our community. Defend Island Brewing Company.
