Hello! My name is Kelsi and as many of you know, my mom has been battling Chronic Myeloid Leukemia for the last 6 years. Recently, the doctors started her on a last effort round of chemo to try to improve the longevity of her life after discovering she had transitioned into Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

My mom (Patty) has been living with her sister Rebecca for the last few months when she has not been in the hospital. Recently, Rebecca’s son was diagnosed with Brain cancer, meaning Rebecca was providing rides, care, and a home for two cancer patients who are unable to provide those things for themselves. This has gotten very busy and a bit overwhelming.

My mom currently goes to the doctor several times a week and does not have a vehicle, so she relies on rides from other people. She will likely soon be living with me, while I am in school and working. We are starting this GoFundMe in order to raise funds for a car to get her to doctors' appointments, and to allow for a bit of freedom while she has the opportunity to enjoy it. Update : Doctors have discovered a tumor in my mom’s spine, which will likely limit her mobility very soon. She has been in very intense pain and chemo sessions while spending another month in the hospital, where she just got out a few days ago. She is in the stages of losing her hair and mostly trying to manage pain. She is going to doctor’s appointments almost every day of the week. Any help to make the end of this journey easier for her is deeply appreciated.
