Support Patty’s Fight Against Rare Cancer

Patty Kennelly is a remarkable woman who has touched so many lives as a Mom, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, mentor, and professionally as a mental health therapist in Whitefish, MT. Just a year ago, she completed treatment for early stage breast cancer, celebrating the end of that difficult journey with her family and friends. Last fall, she married her amazing wife, Lisa, and together they continued to build a loving home for Patty’s three boys, who are in middle and high school. Patty has always been active in her community, supporting others with compassion and care.

In mid-September, Patty began experiencing severe hip pain that didn’t improve with physical therapy. After several falls, she underwent scans and tests that revealed challenging news: her original breast cancer had mutated into a rare and aggressive form with neuroendocrine features. This type of cancer is extremely rare for breast cancer patients and is known to move quickly. The cancer has now spread to her liver, pelvis, hip, cervical spine, cranium, and other areas, causing her quality of life to decline rapidly. Patty is now in a wheelchair and in persistent pain, unable to work as much as she would like with her clients. Working with her clients is how Patty contributes to making her community a better place, having to limit her important work is super challenging. As a self-employed mental health professional, this has limited her income, and while she is applying for disability, the process is slow and uncertain. On Friday, Patty will begin a new course of chemotherapy. She is incredibly strong, not only physically but in her spirit. She's also ticked off about this F#*!@ing cancer diagnosis and is going to fight!

All funds raised will go directly towards Patty's medical expenses and continued support of the family's living expenses. Patty is pure magic—a radiant spirit who shares her love and light with everyone she meets. She is a role model to many, always putting others’ needs before her own, and will never complain. With the support of her family and her wife, Lisa, Patty has raised her boys to be respectful, kind, and full of integrity. Now, as she faces this difficult battle, she needs our help, it takes a village and we can all be that village. The Whitefish community has already shown up for the Kennelly family, and Patty is overwhelmed by the support over the last few weeks. Please consider supporting Patty and her family. Your generosity will help her focus on healing and caring for her loved ones. Thank you for your kindness and support.
