I have recently been diagnosed with stage 2 rectal cancer, and my world has changed almost overnight. This week, I will begin chemotherapy and radiation treatments, which means I will have to step away from my job and focus on my health. As someone who is used to working six days a week and taking care of myself, it’s difficult to ask for help, but I know I can’t do this alone. The costs of medical care, housing, and food are overwhelming, especially while I am unable to work during treatment.
