Support Patty Wright's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Patty Wright is a pillar of her community and well-loved by those that know her. She stands strong in her faith and has always been a very active member of her church, Dripping Springs Methodist Church. Patty and her husband, Dale, have two daughters, Marie and Sara, and one grandson, Kyler.
On the night of Monday, July 29th, Patty was on her way home when she was hit head-on by a drunk driver on RR12, just north of Dripping Springs, at approximately 10:00 pm. She was cut from her vehicle by first responders and life-flighted to St. David’s South Austin hospital. She sustained more than a dozen broken bones from head to toe and, to date, has endured three surgeries to fuse her top two vertebrae, place a rod in her left leg, and replace her right shoulder. After more than a week in the Trauma ICU, Patty was transferred to an inpatient physical therapy/rehab facility to learn how to be independent again. How long she will be in inpatient physical therapy and what care will follow has not yet been determined. She is hopeful that one day she can return to the active lifestyle that she enjoyed prior to the accident, but the road to recovery is going to be a long and painful one, and she’s going to need a lot of help.
Patty’s family and close friends have come together to help support her through this challenging time and to care for her husband, Dale, as Patty was his primary caregiver. With this much needed support comes a great need for financial support to cover immediate expenses, as well. Our hope in fundraising is to ease the burden of the financial strain caused by this accident and to allow Patty and family to focus on recovery. Your support and continued prayers mean everything to the Wright family.
