Less than a year after losing Patty’s grandma around the holiday season, Patty and Kevin went to Mexico over Thanksgiving break for a much needed getaway. The hope was to create new memories together and reset for a new beginning. They were on a cruise that stopped in Cozumel. Kevin was excited to go on a self-led tour riding scooters and stopping at different beaches. While on this adventure, they stopped at a beautiful area with crystal clear water and spent some time playing in the sand and sun. Patty and Kevin waded into the water to body surf. As Patty and Kevin swam, they got caught in a riptide and were pulled far away from shore. The waves and the extreme pull started drowning both Kevin and Patty. The lifeguards were able to help and saved Patty, but they were unable to revive Kevin. He passed away on Thanksgiving Day in Cozumel.
Tragically, Kevin was uninsurable from having had cancer and other health-related issues. Because of this, and his being self-employed, Patty is now trying to navigate several complex and difficult financial matters.
In addition to the cost of Kevin’s funeral service, Patty is being faced with medical bills from Mexico as well as bills from the funeral home there. If there is anything anyone can to do help, any amount of a donation is appreciated.
Thank you for your love and support.
