Early this morning, a devastating fire burned Patti’s Place to the ground.
For the Thomaston, CT community, Patti’s Place wasn’t just a diner — it was a second home. Patti and Mike are two of the kindest people in town, known for greeting everyone with a smile and treating every customer like family. Their food felt like a home-cooked meal you didn’t have to make yourself, and the atmosphere was always warm, familiar, and welcoming.
Patti’s Place opened early every day for the people who keep this town moving — city and state workers, early risers, and anyone who needed a good meal to start their morning. For years, it was a constant in so many lives. Names were remembered. Kindness was given freely. Community always came first. It was never about the money — it was about taking care of people.
In one night, everything Patti and Mike built was lost.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to Patti and Mike to help cover immediate expenses and support them as they navigate what comes next after this sudden and heartbreaking loss.
If you’ve ever shared a meal at Patti’s Place, been greeted with their warmth, or felt the comfort of walking through their doors, please consider donating or sharing. Any amount helps. Your support will make a real difference as they begin to rebuild their lives — and, hopefully one day, their beloved diner.
