Help support Pattie's Recovery

My name is Pattie and I am starting a go fund me page in hopes to give my family some financial support. Over the last year, I have been in and out of the hospital and have had three separate abdominal surgeries. Each surgery has put a financial strain on the family due to my husband Travis having to take the time off to take care of me and only receiving Short Term Disability pay while I am off work. The medical bills have started to pile up and regular bills are getting harder to pay.

To start it off, I had a hernia repair in February 2024. The repair was successful at first but had returned by the spring. This made me so sick to the point where I couldn’t eat and was dependent on supplement shakes to keep me going. I had the repair again at the end of August which was successful but, a few days after coming home from the hospital, I was experiencing extreme abdominal pain and swelling. I went to the emergency room and had a CT scan. The scan showed my intestines were swollen causing an obstruction that led to another hospital admission. Completely unrelated, a lesion on my pancreas was also found. Following up with my primary care doctor, they decided to order an MRI MRCP to see what exactly the lesion was and how severe this may be. The results came back showing a cyst and a nodule underneath that branched into the splenic vein which was later diagnosed as an IPMN. About a week later, a biopsy was preformed confirming that the mass was precancerous and needed to be removed. A meeting with surgical oncology determined that they would need to take half of the pancreas where the mass was located and the entire spleen due to the splenic vein being compromised. On December 10, I had the surgery and was admitted for 5 days. I am currently doing well but this will be a very long recovery compared to the previous surgeries. The surgery was successful, but I will need to have multiple scans following the surgery to make sure nothing has grown back and make sure there are no other abnormalities.

Every time I have been hospitalized, my husband Travis has had to completely take over all responsibilities in the home with our dogs and kids. This has caused him having to turn down many jobs affecting our income tremendously. I am trying to eliminate some of this financial strain that my health problems have placed on my family.
