Support Patti Parsons in Her Cancer Battle

To the Big Sky community,

Patti Garcia Parsons is someone a lot of us know. She is a wonderful person that has been dealt a terrible hand as she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The next many months will be spent in treatment when she will have a very limited ability to work. Patti needs our help and I hope Big Sky will step up in a big way to help.

Patti first moved to Big Sky four years ago to find work during the early days of covid. She has worked at Spanish Peaks, The Corral, and Roxy’s. I have never known her to have less than two jobs, she is a grinder. When not working she loved kayaking, hiking, visiting national parks, and travel. I am looking forward to stories of a healthy and strong Patti traveling through Latin America, her favorite destination, for years to come.

Through work and her time off she has had the opportunity to touch a lot of people with her kindness, openness, and priceless humor. Authentic is the best word I know for Patti. I remember speaking with a person at one of the places where she worked. He said, “Patti is great, she has by far the most 5-star reviews of anyone… but come to think of it she probably has the most 1 star too.” I loved this. Plenty of smiles and warmth, but she does not suffer fools. Authentic!

Patti is tough, but she has a scary time ahead as she faces the final diagnosis and the treatment process. She will be staying with her son during treatment but will have many medical and ancillary expenses and will not have the ability to work for some time. Patti has supported the Big Sky community for years; I am asking everyone that we do what we can to now support Patti.
