Fire Victims in Patten, Maine — Our Community Needs Our Help!

On December 17, a devastating fire struck our small town of Patten, Maine, destroying two buildings and forever changing the lives of the residents who lived there.

The first building was an apartment complex that housed 11 residents — 10 women and 1 man. This building was home to individuals 62 years of age and older and/or those living with disabilities. Every single resident lost their home and all of their belongings. Tragically, some also lost their beloved pets.

The second structure was an auto garage with an apartment above, home to one man and one woman. This building was also completely destroyed, leaving them without a home or possessions.

While we are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe and unharmed, these individuals are now facing the unimaginable task of starting over from scratch with nothing.

This Is Where Our Small Town Shines

Patten and our surrounding communities have always shown up for one another in times of need. We have full faith in the power of our community, and we know that together, even the smallest acts of kindness can make a tremendous impact.

This GoFundMe is one way to help — monetary donations of any amount go directly toward helping these individuals rebuild their lives.

However, we understand that not everyone is able to give financially. There are other ways to help, more will be released as it becomes available but for now;

• Donated items are being accepted at the Methodist Church in Patten.
