UPDATE - 2/20
Today Pat had to have a defibrillator placed to help regulate his heart rate, which means he’ll need to stay in the hospital longer. Thankfully, the procedure went very well, but it’s still another hurdle in his recovery. His heart is still quite weak and currently functioning at less than 50%, so time, rest, and care are what he needs most right now to regain strength.
This past month has been overwhelming, and it’s hard to believe everything that’s happened in such a short time. We’re also coming to terms with the likelihood that Pat won’t be able to return to work and may need to retire — something he truly deserves, just sooner than expected.
We’ll continue raising funds for as long as we can to make sure he has the support and care he needs during this long road to recovery. Thank you all for standing by him and lifting him up.

For more than 40 years, Pat has shown up for Boston—until the day his heart suddenly stopped while he was at work. The man who has fed and smiled his way into countless lives is now fighting for his own.
Pat has a way of lighting up every room he enters, offering a smile that feels genuine and earned. He’s poured his heart into running his canteen truck across the Boston area, showing up day after day. He’s never been one to ask for help, even when life was heavy, choosing instead to carry on with quiet strength and a generosity that has touched countless lives.
As a small business owner, he has always lived modestly, working hard just to make ends meet. Now, with overwhelming medical bills, upcoming rehabilitation, and everyday expenses continuing to pile up, he needs support more than ever. At home, his loyal dog, Saddie, waits patiently—missing him deeply and hoping for the day he comes back home.
We’re reaching out to friends, family, and the greater Boston community to stand beside Pat during this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps lift a piece of the burden—allowing Pat to focus on healing and finding his way back to the life and work he loves, with Sadie right by his side. Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and for helping Pat on his journey toward recovery
