In February of this year, my sister & I took our sweet, brave, beautiful mother to the emergency room for what we thought was just a simple infection, something medication could clear up and she would be back to herself. She was having some stomach pains which led them to perform a CT scan of her stomach. This scan just happened to catch a picture of her liver. Her liver showed signs of NASH liver disease and we would later follow up with more testing.

She recently had a liver biopsy and that has found her liver to be Stage 4 Cirrhosis.

Mom has an appointment with a transplant center in OKC in July. She has been incredibly brave throughout this whole process.

As you can imagine, finding out such a diagnosis can be overwhelming for a family. Our closest friends and family have asked how they could best support us during this time and with Mom’s 70th birthday coming up, and lots of doctor appointments piling up, testing, and procedures she will need, we felt this would be the best way to support us if you feel led to do so.

My sister and I would like to give her all the support we can so she, at the least, doesn’t have to worry about money. Our mom has always been such a hard worker all her life, just retiring in 2020 and still continues to care for her grandchildren in retirement. Mom is strong and she raised two strong daughters and we will get her through this. Please keep our family in your prayers while we navigate this together.
