I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear childhood friend, Patrise Sample, who is currently facing an unexpected and challenging medical journey. On November 5th, shortly after finishing her shift at work, Patrise began feeling unwell. She went to the emergency room, where doctors informed her that she had suffered a heart attack and would need bypass surgery.

On November 11th, Patrise underwent what became a quadruple bypass surgery. We are incredibly grateful that the surgery was successful, and she has now begun the long and demanding road to recovery.

While Patrise focuses on healing, she is unable to work—and this includes taking time away from Sample and Millz, her beloved home bakery business where she creates the amazing treats so many of us enjoy. Doctors expect that she will be unable to return to work or baking until at least February, leaving her with months of lost income on top of mounting medical expenses.

Patrise is a hardworking, loving, and generous person who has poured so much of herself into her community, her family, and her craft. Now, she needs support from the people who care about her.

We are asking for donations of any amount to help ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Your contribution will help cover medical bills, everyday living expenses, and the costs associated with her recovery.
