Support Patrick's Fight for Life and Recovery

Hello, my name is Christian Brathwaite, I am an Active Duty Enlisted Airman, now on Emergency Leave, and I am the brother of Patrick Brathwaite — a good-natured, dedicated, gracious 35 years old man who needs our help.

Patrick is a diligent attorney, a loving papa to his dog Roshi, an amazing brother and son, and an outstanding member of the greater Tampa Bay community. He is a great mentor and an even better friend.

Patrick had a Cardiac Arrest on 29 April 2025, he was under extreme stress being a new lawyer in the Tampa Area, and with that high stress environment, his heart suffered. His heart died for 70 minutes. He is now in a cardio-pulmonary bypass machine, as he is not breathing on his own and his heart is too weak to beat. He was helicopter evacuated from Tampa to Orlando to a hospital that can perform heart transplants and specialized care for his severe condition.

Because of this incident, Patrick is unable to work, pay off his bills, take care of his dog, and the financial strain on the family is overwhelming. This fundraiser is to help cover medical bills, household bills, and everyday living expenses while on Emergency Leave while he gets care, and recovers. All donations will go directly to supporting Patrick Brathwaite and Christian Brathwaite.

Every little bit counts. Every share makes a difference. Every prayer is felt.

To our friends, family, and everyone who knows and loves Patrick and to everyone who doesn’t know him yet, our world stopped that day. By the grace of God, he was able to call 911 himself. Which showcases his tremendous resiliency amidst a heart attack and his drive and will to live. That alone was a miracle. He’s still with us, fighting, but things are serious.

Right now, Patrick is in a sedated state. He is still conscious and still responds to commands.

He opens his eyes. He moves. He hears us. He cries. He blinks twice if you tell him to blink twice. Patrick is still here. He’s holding on. And he’s fighting. He just has to stay sedated while he heals, because when they loosened the drugs he tried to take the ventilator off and tried to get up.

This isn’t going to be a short journey. It’s the start of something much bigger... a battle for recovery, for healing, and a fight for life. We’re in uncharted territory, but we’re standing with faith, and we’re not standing alone.
