Patrick is a kind and generous man who has always put his family first. As a retired Dispatch Supervisor from the Birmingham Fire Department, he spent his career helping others and supporting his community. At home, Patrick is the heart of our family, always upbeat and honest, never complaining even in the face of challenges. He’s a loving husband, father to six children, and a proud grandfather, with a special bond to his dog Leia. His positivity and strength have always inspired us, and now, as he faces a difficult diagnosis, we are rallying around him.

On August 29th, 2025, Patrick was diagnosed with Esophageal Adenocarcinoma. His doctors and cancer surgeon have recommended that he begin chemotherapy as soon as possible, with treatment scheduled to start on September 9th. The process of insurance approval and the out-of-pocket costs for co-pays, deductibles, and ongoing medical bills have created a significant financial hardship for our family. Patrick has never been seriously ill before, so we are now facing expenses that have quickly drained our savings. The next eight weeks will be critical as he undergoes chemotherapy, with the hope that his cancer will shrink enough for surgery—a procedure that will be tough on him and require a long recovery.

The emotional toll of this diagnosis has been heavy, filled with worry and uncertainty. We are deeply grateful for the prayers, love, and support we’ve already received from friends and family.
