- My name is Patrick Ross and my story is one that my doctors told me to share. I was working and providing for my family when one day, out of nowhere, I started having some unexpected chest pain. No big deal, I thought, until the doctor came into my room and told me that my kidneys are not functioning. And that dialysis and a transplant are my options. Once you get over the shock, you realize that life happens to everyone. It might not be when you expect it to, but it does. That’s when your faith and mental strength have to be at their best when you’re at your lowest.
Positive energy and thoughts are your best tools to keep going and remember what’s important. Make each day count and the next day even better. The financial part of treatments and having a transplant is unreal. But like I said, it's part of the process and my journey. Please do not feel sorry for me because life happens to everyone.
