We are starting this fundraiser for our brother Patrick Matthews. On March 26, 2026, Pat was involved in a bad ATV accident that required transport to Hartford Hospital by Life Star, after receiving life-threatening injuries. Pat required ICU care for over a week, and a total hospital stay of over 2 weeks, as his injuries included head trauma, 11 broken ribs, a punctured lung and a compound-fractured clavicle. After completing required surgery, although he was released for recovery and rehab from home, Pat still has a long, painful road to recovery ahead.

Unfortunately, being out of work for a month already, Pat being self employed, the accident and injuries will restrict Pat’s ability to earn an adequate income for the foreseeable future. The impact of this accident has been felt deeply by our entire family. Patrick is facing not only the physical pain and challenges of recovery, but also the emotional stress of worrying about how to maintain his ability to provide for his 2 sons and keep up with everyday expenses. Family and close friends are doing everything we can to support him, but help in this time of need would be appreciated.

The funds raised will help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance, physical therapy and follow-up doctor appointments, and basic living expenses (rent, utilities, groceries) for the next 2-3 months. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in Pat’s life as he works toward healing.
