Honoring the life and Legacy of Patricia Ann Wunderlich

Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our beloved Granny Patricia Ann Wunderlich. 72 years old, she has fought with incredible strength and grace. On the 21st of October, 2025, Patricia was taken by ambulance to Gary Northlake Methodist from lack of oxygen and being extremely weak, which we thought may have been pneumonia. This quickly escalated into a nightmare we would never forget. When arriving at the hospital, Patricia coded twice, the first time being at least six minutes long, causing severe brain damage and paralysis along with double pneumonia, sepsis, rhinovirus, along with her COPD and emphysema. Due to all the complications and extreme damage that has occurred, she was taken off life support on the 31st of October of this year. Patricia is still fighting very hard to stay with us. As her fight nears the end, she will be receiving hospice care with loved ones and the Lord Savior holding her hand every step of the way. We ask if you could say a prayer at this time for Patricia to not be in any more pain and to transition with the Lord with His godspeed mercy wrapped around our granny. Patricia, being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, focused her attention, love, and life on all her children. She did not have life insurance or a plan for what most of us fear to come. She was on disability, and funds were always extremely hard to come by. Making the right arrangements is even more out of reach while we prepare for heaven to welcome Patricia home to reunite with her loved ones.

Patricia - "Granny" or "Patty" to so many - was the light of the family. She was a woman of endless love, faith, and kindness. Her laughter could fill a room, her blunt jokes were out of this world, and her hugs could heal any heart. She literally would give the shirt off her back to any soul, even if she did not know them. Her wisdom guided us through life's hardest days. She gave her all to her family, never scared to speak up, always putting others before herself, and loved with a pure, unconditional heart. As we face this painful goodbye, we want to celebrate her life in a way that truly honors the beautiful person she was. We are asking for help to cover cremation costs, a celebration of life, and any medical expenses so we can give her the much-deserved peaceful farewell as her last hooray.

Any amount - no matter how small - will help lift the burden from our family during this heartbreaking time. If you're unable to donate, please keep our family in your prayers and share this page so her story and spirit can continue to touch others.

Though our hearts are completely broken, we take comfort knowing that Patricia will soon be reunited with the loved ones who have gone before her - watching over us, free from pain, surrounded by heavenly peace.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your kindness, your prayers, and support.
With much love,

Along with a short breakdown, we have provided Patricia's favorite Bible prayer.

The Hail Mary Prayer
"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. - Amen"

patricia was taken home to the lord 11/11/25 our family is frantic and destroyed but at eased to know she is not at peace we are currently trying to get her cremated which is no where near cheap and we will do a celebration of life at some point.
