As you may already know, our sister, auntie, niece and daughter Patti was injured in a life threatening accident when she fell over 100 meters off a cliff in BC on Mar 27. Patti was rescued and taken to the hospital but was not able to speak and had no contact with her family as for some reason the hospitals and police believed her parents to be deceased and did not investigate further. By chance two young fishermen found her belongings and ID and contacted us 24 hours after it happened. Unfortunately we did not get the message until Sunday morning about her accident. We had to call several hospitals and police stations many times to get answers. Patti had surgery and was taken off life support on Sunday afternoon and is now recovering. Although she is on the road to recovery, she has a journey ahead of her. She has broken ribs, a punctured lung, lacerations on her head, neck injuries, a broken finger and fractured skull. It is truly a miracle that she is alive. Because of Patti's severe injuries she is not able to work at this time and we are unsure of when she can return. Unfortunately, her purse along with her phone and all her IDs were left at the scene and we cannot retrieve them. We are asking friends and family for donations as she makes her recovery. Patti also has several autoimmune diseases which means she has to follow a very strict diet which, unfortunately is not cheap, and is absolutely vital to her healing right now. She will also need help with rent, transportation (this will be ongoing), medication and medical supplies and medical support (as they are not provided to us), help with her upcoming move including her damage deposit. Family would benefit from help with accommodations, food and transportation. When Patti was unexpectedly released from the hospital over the weekend we were told she would be receiving help from a nurse three times a day, this information quickly changed to once a day and now that may change again. Patti will also need help with cleaning, cooking and taking care of her basic needs as she is not able to do so. Any donation or share would be greatly appreciated. Due to Patti being an off reserve band member, she does not qualify for support from our band at this time. We would also like to thank everyone who has reached out, called and supported us through this difficult time as well as the rescue team who saved her and the young fishermen who reached out to us.
