Support for Patrice Casanova

Patrice Casanova, Mark’s wife of 30 years, suffered a cardiac arrest on July 2 and has been hospitalized ever since. It has been a long and difficult road for Patrice and the whole family. During her hospitalization, Patrice had to be placed on a feeding tube and a trach. Thankfully, she has improved enough to come off both and move to a puréed diet, but she still needs constant help with daily living. Patrice cannot get out of bed on her own, cannot use the bathroom without assistance, and currently requires around-the-clock care. Mark is doing everything he can while also working 50 hours a week and helping care for their daughter with disabilities. After 30 years of marriage, two daughters, and three grandchildren, Patrice means the world to her family, and they are trying to prepare for her expected return home in about a month.

The family is asking for help as insurance is running out and Patrice’s ongoing care is expected to cost about $10,000 per month. Donations will help cover room and board, around-the-clock care, adult diapers, cleaning supplies for diaper changes, puréed food, and other medical-related expenses.
