I met my long time friend Patrice Boudreaux in Baton Rouge in 1999. She and her family have always been so welcoming and supportive. She knew my Chicago family and was with me during the sudden death of my father, Bruce. I am grateful to the amazing Boudreaux family for making my time in Louisiana special.
Patrice has suffered an unimaginable loss. Her wife Kat Katrina Williams passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 12th.
Below is a tribute to Kat written by Artist’s Music Guild.
“The Artists Music Guild is saddened by the breaking news of the passing of a true musical legend. Blue's icon Kat Williams passed away unexpectedly tonight. Kat, who has been a member of the Guild since 2011 has always been and will always be our heart. She was never too tired to help with any charities we were doing, nor was she ever afraid of rolling up her sleeves and jumping in to help our public schools. Kat was no stranger to life's hurdles. She had to undergo a complete kidney transplant a few years back. Doctor's said that without it she would have surely passed away sooner. Kat's most famous joke about her new kidney was, "Does this kidney make my butt look bigger?" It's hard to say "goodbye" to a legend, but it's even harder to say when the legend is a FRIEND. Kat, you were a one of a kind and this world was so fortunate to have met you. Fly high and free and you now know that "All God's Children Have a Place in the Choir."
Any contribution for Patrice as she navigates her life without her soulmate would be greatly appreciated.
Much love. Liz Perryman
