Hello everyone! We are Patio de Niños, a school dedicated to providing quality education and loving care to our young children.

Patio de Niños was founded by Odalis Hernandez, a local teacher, role model and advocate for education. Odalis has always known the importance of a quality education. As a child, she fought hard to pursue an education, walking an hour and a half every day in order to continue her studies. This inspired her to become a teacher and make education more accessible to all children. She spent 7 years as a certified Montessori teacher at Tres Mariposas School, and through her experience with education and nonprofits, Odalis began to dream of opening her own school, a place where she could offer the beautiful education and opportunities that she never had as a child to children from all backgrounds, especially underprivileged children. She was the first Dominican woman to open a Montessori school in Cabarete, and she has overcome countless challenges to keep her doors open and provide a space for her students to learn and thrive.

Patio de Niños stands out in the community as a legitimate and affordable option for quality Montessori education for all families. As a certified NGO, it offers every student:

Patio de Niños is much more than a place of learning; it is a home for our children, teachers, and families. Here, children grow, learn, and develop in a safe and nurturing environment. Every day, we see the positive impact our school has on the lives of our students and their families. That's why we're launching this campaign.

Unfortunately, economic challenges, such as inflation, loss of funding, and fluctuating enrolment have put us in a difficult situation that threatens to close our doors. Despite rising costs and inflation, Patio de Niños is dedicated to maintaining accessible prices for our families, as well as scholarships for underprivileged children.
