Support Patches' Recovery and Bike Restoration

Hello, I am Crystal Denise, Patches' daughter. The evening of Wed, Sept 18, my dad was riding his motorcycle on his way home when a van with two men who were wearing ski masks pulled up beside him, talking crap and eventually letting off 5 shots at my dad before driving off. One bullet entered his right arm just above his elbow, shattering the bone. Four entered his bike.

My dad tried to pick up his bike and walk it to Research Hospital while shot, as this all took place at Meyer Blvd and South 71, across the bridge from Research Hospital. Luckily, a woman stopped, called 911 on her phone, and took his phone to call me.

We were originally told when coming on scene we could come back and get his bike, it was a crime scene for now. When returning later to get the bike, they were towing it on its side, scraping the bike the entire way.

My dad's motorcycle means more to him than anything in the world. My dad is 68 years old and has battled both heart failure and cancer within the last 6 months. This shooting has been devastating for all of us.

Yet if you visit him, all he will talk about is his bike. I've had many people reach out wanting to contribute to getting his bike up and running again and I just want to say a huge thank you. Some people reading this won't get it, but for those that do, we so greatly appreciate you.

I will be retrieving his bike tomorrow from the tow lot so it will be home when he gets here. Any funds given will go towards restoring his bike and medical bills. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
