After a courageous and prolonged battle with ovarian cancer, Pat Wilkes has passed on. She leaves behind three children—Anastacia, David, and Joey—along with four beloved grandchildren: Scarlett, Kieran, Fiona, and Lucas. Her cherished grand-puppy, Bruce, also held a special place in her heart, always ready with cuddles and comfort.
Pat was born and raised in southeastern Ohio and graduated from high school in 1972. Her life’s journey took her to New York and eventually to Rhode Island, where she spent decades raising her children. Later in life, she returned to Ohio to care for her aging parents, and most recently, she made Florida her home.
Pat had a magnetic personality and a gift for forming deep connections—whether lifelong friendships or newfound bonds. She was intelligent, quick-witted, fiercely compassionate, and never short on opinions. A creative spirit, she loved to read, craft, and engage in thoughtful conversation. She was also deeply passionate about justice and equal rights, always standing firm in her beliefs.
Pat lived life on her own terms—boldly and unapologetically. Though cancer eventually claimed her body, it never took her spirit. She fought bravely until the end, full of grit and grace.
Due to the financial strain of her extended illness, Pat was unable to set aside funds for her end-of-life arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family is kindly asking for donations to help cover her final services.
Thank you for the outpouring of love and support. Pat loved deeply and wholeheartedly, and while her time here was cut short, her impact will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
