Pat Is Home!!!
Yikes—it’s almost Christmas! I owe you an update. I had some urgent to-dos that took over my life and, I'm sorry to say, the GoFundMe project slipped behind. I imagine you’ve been wondering what’s been happening with Pat and Wes. My sincere apologies for the late news—but I’m truly happy to share something wonderful. While we didn’t quite reach the $15,000 goal, your generosity made an enormous difference. Because of your kindness, support, and Wes’s determined effort to reduce their living expenses, the dream has become reality: Pat is home.
Some details on how it's been going
For months, the $7,500 monthly cost of assisted living loomed over Wes as an impossible amount to make happen. Your donations helped prevent a collapse into bankruptcy or homelessness. On October 15, Pat came home, and Pat and Wes are together again. This is a milestone they are celebrating, and it happened because of you.
Pat’s homecoming is a huge step forward, but it isn’t the finish line. Pat requires full-time care, and there remains a monthly shortfall of about $2,350 between their income and the costs of care that insurance does not cover. It’s a heavy and ongoing burden.
A lifetime journey of art , teaching, sharing.....
Pat and Wes are artists and teachers who have spent their lives giving—to students, audiences, and their community—creating beauty, wisdom, and connection. They never sought wealth, only the chance to contribute meaningfully. Their lives have been rich in all the things that bring meaning to our lives but, like many, this health crisis has stripped away the security they had managed to create for themselves. Now, as they face this last chapter of their lives, they want to find a way to ensure they can stay together and live a life of dignity, peace, and love.
It takes a village
This is where continued help can truly change things. A monthly donation—even a modest one—would go a long way toward spporting Pat’s in-home care and medical needs. It’s a big ask, but if you’re able, would you consider becoming a monthly donor? And if donating isn’t possible right now, sharing this GoFundMe with your social network could make all the difference. There are angels among us, and sometimes they’re just one shared post away.
Thank you.....
Thank you for standing with Pat and Wes on this journey. Your care and generosity showed them that they are not alone. As a small thank you, I’ve attached a gift from Pat: copy the link to an mp3 of Pat playing a few Christmas favorites. I hope it brings you a moment of joy.
Here's the link. Please do not share it but feel free to direct others to this GoFundMe page where they can capture it themselves.
Pat is home and so very happy to be there. She sends you her deepest thanks for all you've done. Pat and Wes wish you a beautiful Christmas and all good things in 2026. Thank you for making this possible.
