Hello, North Quabbin community members.

Many of you have visited the Daniel Shays Package Store, AKA Stonies, AKA Pat’s, and have left there excited to fill your belly with a breakfast sandwich, cheeseburger special, roast beef grinder, or one of their many homemade soups. If you’ve ever stopped by, you’ve seen Pat and Jenn behind the counter; the mother/daughter team who have worked tirelessly to serve the community for the past 48 years.

In the last month or so, this pair of hardworking women have been through some health struggles. First, Pat ended up in the hospital after she took a fall at work, and now Jenn has been hospitalized with a severe medical issue that is still being figured out. Jenn’s condition may keep her in the hospital for an unknown amount of time. Pat is unable to run the store without Jenn, so the store is temporarily closed and the bills are starting to pile up.

Those who know Pat and Jenn understand that they would never ask for a handout. So, we offered to help by setting up this GoFundMe. They both agreed, understanding that it may not be possible to continue running the business without it. We are hoping this will help get them through this physical hardship until they are back on their feet again, ready to continue feeding all who frequent there.

The goal of this fundraiser is to allow them to take the necessary time needed to heal and not go back to work too soon because of financial pressures.
