Support Pat and Becky Cobb After Tragic Accident

Meet Pat and Becky Cobb, a local family from Boyne City. After meeting them over the weekend and hearing their story I thought it was appropriate to reach out to the beautiful community that we have here to do just what we always do, support one another. This is their story...

Pat has been driving truck for over forty years. He's an extremely kind and giving soul. On January 17th his life changed for forever. Pat was in a horrific accident while he was driving truck. He was the driver of the semi that was in an accident in Vanderbilt. Unfortunately a women who no longer wanted to live made the choice to end her life by jumping in front of him. Absolutely heart breaking for both families involved. Something that we haven't heard though is the impact it has had on Pat himself.

On Saturday while on the local Boyne City facebook page I came across an anonymous post of someone looking for a food pantry open on the weekend. After commenting on that very post that I could help with groceries I met Becky, Pat's wife. I had never even heard of their story before that very moment. The fact that someones grandparents could be in a place to be asking for help with meeting basic needs broke my heart. The hand they were dealt was by no means their fault and I knew I wouldn't be alone in wanting to help this older couple.

Not being able to work, Becky is left with trying to make ends meet. Pat himself will need a lot of healing. He's currently in counseling and working through it but its going to take some time. As a community lets rally behind them and show them the support they deserve.
