Support Pastor Peeke’s Memorial Journey

Hello, I am writing to let you know that if you wish to contribute to Pastor Peeke’s special request this is the best possible way I could think of to help send funds for this purpose, for those of you who want to donate.

I was lucky enough to meet Pastor Peeke during my time at SGA, particularly as my Bible teacher during my Senior year (Class of 1999). I can still remember those moments in class where he taught not from textbooks, but from the heart. I have had the opportunity to visit with him and Mrs. Peeke only a handful of times and just recently as well. Even in his state, he still recalls a very vivid memory of me as a very awkward and shy freshman. And I still can’t believe he remembers that! That’s just the kind of person he is and I know he would recall a special memory for every single student he has taught. He told me, “I went into teaching because I just love kids so much” and seeing all the comments flooding his page, I have no doubt that he was given the special gift of connecting with his students—and really, all who know him. I am honored to help any way I can in helping to fulfill his request and I hope you can give as you are able to.

I included his own words below because I couldn’t have said it better. God bless each and every one of you.

“My thanks to all of you who visited this past week. Having the gang gathered in my bedroom was a special moment. These guys have stuck with me from academy days on. I performed their wedding ceremonies and now the are heading toward middle age. Amazing. As I have said Sandra is my typist. So many times I have said to her how much I hate death, but death is the circle that completes life. As much as I love living, I know of a better life that awaits me. I just hate leaving people I love. Sandra and I have to make funeral plans, and I am turning to you for support. My wish is for her to take my ashes to places she and I love. One of those places will be Big Sur. In lieu of flowers I would appreciate monies needed for her to travel to where I will rest till eternity. I apologize if that seems too forward. I want to lighten the burden on her. The years she has spent helping to keep me alive has been hard for her. God gave me a special person in her, and God gave me special people in all of you. You all are my treasures here, and I trust will be so in heaven. What lies ahead is in God’s hands. I will trust in Him.”
