Help Passion Finish Medical School in Honor of Her Late Husband and Late Pops

Hi, my name is Passion Bell-Mitchell, and I’m a third-year medical student at Washington University of Health and Sciences in Belize, currently completing my Surgery rotation in Chicago, Illinois — a major milestone on my journey to becoming a physician.

This path has tested me in every possible way, but through it all, God has kept me going.

In October 2024, I lost my husband suddenly. We were in this journey together — both in medical school, both beginning clinical rotations — holding on to the dream of walking across that graduation stage as doctors, hand in hand. After his passing, my father-in-law ("Pops") stepped in with love, faith, and support — emotionally, spiritually, and financially. He made it his mission to help me continue chasing our shared dream.

Then, in June 2025, just one month into my Surgery rotation, I lost Pops too.

With both of my biggest supporters gone, and no access to traditional educational loans, I am facing serious financial challenges that could prevent me from finishing medical school. But I know that God did not bring me this far to leave me now.

That’s why I’m reaching out — with humility, faith, and hope.

My Goal: $20,000
This amount will help cover:

  • Remaining tuition for fourth year
  • Physician and clinical rotation fees
  • Educational materials
  • Transportation
I know this is a significant amount — but I also know that God can multiply even the smallest seed sown in faith. Every donation, no matter the size, is a blessing and brings me one step closer to the finish line.

I’m Doing My Part
I’m not giving up — and I’m not waiting idly.
I will be working full-time while completing clinical rotations. It’s a difficult and demanding balance, but I’m doing everything in my power to stay on track.

I’ve recently had to break my lease because I simply couldn’t keep up with the payments. Having to move for the second time in the last year has been traumatic and exhausting, but I’m doing my best to stay focused on my studies and healing.

I’ve also committed to healing spiritually and emotionally. I’m actively attending GriefShare and working with a professional counselor, leaning into God’s strength as I process the grief of losing both my husband and Pops.

I restarted school in January 2025, trusting God each day, and pushing forward through grief, long hours, and financial uncertainty. I am determined to finish this program strong and walk across that stage as Dr. Passion Bell-Mitchell — carrying with me the love, legacy, and prayers of two men who believed in me, and the faith that has sustained me.

If you feel led to give or share, please know that your support means more than words can express. Your generosity is helping me become the physician I’ve worked — and prayed — so hard to be: one who serves others with compassion, strength, and purpose.

Please keep me in your prayers.
