Partners For Madagascar (501c3 non-profit) was founded by missionary Clint Akins to help support "Tanjona Orphanage" that receives the twins and other at-risk children due to deadly tribal taboos. Before PFM or Tanjona existed, the infants were tossed into the waterways of Madagascar's southeastern coastal region, the local people not believing the infants were human and a danger to their society based on local ancestral taboos.
Tanjona Orphanage is in need of mattresses for the children, some of whom have gone on to become lawyers and doctors. When the children turn 16, they go back to visit their native village to show the people there that they are human and making a positive contribution to Malagasy life.
These children, who live in one of the five poorest nations in the world, study a lot better after a night's sleep on a decent bed and covered by a simple mosquito net that helps protect them from malaria. Your tax-deductible gift can make that difference.
Yolande Fanjanirinarivo Akins is now the president of PFM.
