Support Parris Carters Road To Recovery.

Dear friends and family,

We are reaching out to you today with a heavy heart to share the story of our beloved daughter, Parris Carter. At the end of June 2023, Parris started experiencing a headache, sore back, and fever-like symptoms. Alarmed by her worsening condition, she quickly lost her eyesight and the use of her legs. Seeking immediate medical attention, we rushed her to the emergency at Palmdale Regional Center, where, to our dismay, we were told it was just malnutrition and sent back home.

But our concern only deepened as Parris’s symptoms intensified the next day. We returned to the emergency room, but once again, we were sent back home without a proper diagnosis. It was only when we sought help at Kaiser in Panorama City that they discovered the life threatening infection in her brain.

Parris was immediately transferred to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, where she spent a challenging month fighting for her life in the ICU battling meningoencephalitis, a virus in brain and spine.

Thanks to the dedicated medical team and her own strength, she has survived this life-threatening ordeal. However, her journey to recovery is far from over.

She now faces the daunting road of long-term rehabilitation to regain her ability to walk and function as she did before her illness. She undergoes daily speech, physical, and occupational therapy. This journey will require specialized care, therapies, and support, both emotionally and financially.

As a family, we are committed to doing everything in our power to aid Parris’s recovery. However, we cannot do it alone. We humbly ask for your help and support during this difficult time. Any contribution you can make will go directly towards covering her medical expenses, ongoing rehabilitation, and necessary accommodations.
