Support Parker's Memorial in Reed’s Crossing

Donation protected
We are heartbroken to share the unexpected passing of Parker Calkins, who left us far too soon at the age of 22. Parker passed away in April due to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) while on tour with the Oregon State University choir—an experience he was so proud to be a part of. Parker had a rare form of epilepsy, but he never let it define him. Parker was hilarious—genuinely one of the funniest people you could ever meet. His wit was sharp, his timing perfect, and his sense of humor could light up an entire room. Whether through a perfectly delivered one-liner or a funny look that made everyone laugh, Parker had a gift for making people smile while he lived with quiet courage and compassion.

To honor his memory, we are raising funds to place a memorial bench with a plaque in the new Reed’s Crossing Park North, located in the neighborhood where Parker’s dad and stepmom and his sister Sammie live—and where his mom will soon be moving as well. This bench will be a place to sit, reflect, and remember Parker not for how he passed, but for how he lived: with humor, heart, and a spirit that made the world a better place.

This bench will be a place of comfort for our family. A space where we can remember Parker’s laughter, his kindness, and the incredible young man he was. We would be so grateful for your support in helping us create this special tribute.

With love and thanks,

The Calkins/Spoon Family
